Hello again...

Got a new one for you.  I have done my homework here, so I am almost sure the answer is 'NO', but just in case I am working with HDV footage using fcp 4.5 HD, but there does not seem to be a HDV codec capture setting.

Web searches have yielded a firewire SDK developer tool which I have downloaded and am about to try.  It appears from all accounts that version 4.5 does not work with HDV footage.

I am slated for a MacPro upgrade by the end of June, complete with the latest version of Studio Pro, but meanwhile I am not convinced my trusty G4 is unable to work with this new format.

Any advice?

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!

Third party developers came up with solutions (Lumiere) but HDV was not supported natively in FCP 4.5.
