Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies a banana.



This is just an observation. We used the smoothcam filter on FCP on a wobbling long shot of a train (the tripod was on a rickety bridge in India).

The first pass was OK but still a bit wobbly so we thought, "let's do it again," but it actually made it worse to apply the filter twice. Anyone else had this experience or understand why it makes it worse?

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!



Can't say I have ever thought about applying the Smoothcam filter twice. Normally, if the default settings don't work for me (and often they don't) I go in and adjust the parameters as this is generally how filters work. We use Smoothcam on shots destined for broadcast television.
